Les Nash has been forging for 12 years making weapons but it was through his girlfriend that he got interested in medieval battle re-enactments. From this he was contacted by various film companies and has created helmets and weapons for use in such epics as Gladiator, Braveheart, Highlander and will soon be involved in work on the new Disney film about King Arthur. Les came to the Isle of Wight 11 years ago and bought a property that enabled him to have his own forge with a furnace and through word of mouth he has built up a trade in restoring vintage cars, bikes, horse carriages, and other bespoke metal items. He can create anything from simple shields and swords to complicated hinged helmets and even a full suit of armour. He also forges decorative metal work.
